FIRST ANNUAL FIRST SHOW @ SFAI SEPT 1ST

Coming up very quickly this September 1st is the FIRST ANNUAL FIRST SHOW @ the San Francisco Art Institute (800 Chestnut St, North Beach) co-curated and coordinated by Nicholas Miller, Karl Nelson, myself and Romy Mariano. The show will take over virtually all of SFAI's outdoor space including the courtyard, quad and amphitheater and features all new paintings, sculptures, photography, film, video, performance and installations by over 30 current students, both graduate and undergraduate. Food, beer, wine will be provided at no cost along with entertainment by Dj's Adam Prince, Phil Reyneri, Casemo and special guest. Its going to be one hell of a way to start the new year and definately one you won't want to miss.

The purpose of this show is to ensure that positive energy is infused into the hearts and minds of the student body while beginning a new school year in these times of political and economic uncertainty. With the obstacles we faced as a community within the year becoming permanent fixtures in our academic and personal lives, new adversities appear daunting and easy to succumb to. Because this is so, we decided to present to our community a night of firsts, of creation and rebirth. With this night, we the students, aim to forge a path that brings our differences together to demonstrate our fortitude to building a community consisting of self-determination, creativity, and renewal. With this, we hope that you all will be a part of The First Annual First Show.

The postcard above was designed by my good friend David Bayus. I'll be posting pics of the original hand painted posters I made for the show using David's design shortly, very limited edition and all one of a kind.

Cheers
